Pride WA is giving its members the chance to request a song for inclusion in this year's Pride Parade soundtrack. The 16th Annual Pride Parade will make its way through the streets of Northbridge on Saturday 29th October, bringing the month long Pride Festival to a spectacular climax.
Pride Parade Convenor Dean Cahill said that last year's soundtrack was made special by the inclusion of songs requested by Parade participants.
"Last year saw Pride and Nova 93.7 FM work together to produce a fabulous soundtrack, mixed by Perth DJ legend Dity Den, which resonated throughout Northbridge and the entire City," he said.
"This year will see Pride and Nova team up again and we have invited DJ Seb Sharp (formerly DJ Kinky) to mix it up.
"Seb wants your suggestions and we have set up a special email address for you to email your requests directly.
"While we can't guarantee every request will get played, we will do our best to take each request into consideration."
Pride Co-President Laura Foster said that Pride was offering up to 20 Parade participants $100 reimbursement on approved sound equipment used to broadcast the Parade from their floats.
"We want our soundtrack to lift the rooftops in Northbridge," she said.
Ms Foster encouraged members to get their requests in, saying it was the best way to ensure that the soundtrack appealed equally to women and men and across all age groups.
Song requests must be emailed to soundtrack@pridewa.asn.au by 7 August, 2005.
