Pride WA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Exibit Exhibitions & Publishing Pty Ltd to stage Pride on Show, Western Australia's first lifestyle exhibition targeted at the Pride Community.
Exibit were the promoters of "WA On Show", which opened the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre earlier this year.
The Memorandum of Understanding sets out a framework for an agreement to be reached to stage Pride on Show at the Convention Centre on the weekend of the 2005 Pride Parade.
The MoU also lays the groundwork for the annual Pride Party to be staged in one of the Convention Center's spacious pavilions.
Announcing details of the MoU today, Pride Co-President Daniel Smith said it was an important milestone for Pride.
"Pride WA has come a long way in the last few years, with both the City of Perth Pride Fairday and the Pride Parade becoming major events on the Western Australian calendar," he said.
"Now, Pride WA has reached an agreement which could both add a major new event to our calendar and see our end of festival Pride Party secure a permanent and world class new home.
"Pride WA is going to do everything it can to turn this MoU into a commercially binding agreement that will put Western Australia's Pride Community on the map."
Mr Smith said, under the terms of the MoU, Exhibit would take the financial risk associated with the staging Pride on Show and share 50 per cent of any profits with Pride. Pride WA would remain the sole promoter and manager of the Pride Party.
